About

This is the third time I’ve started a blog. I don’t know how charming it’ll be but it’ll be honest. I have decided to use this as a place to post some of the stories of things I encounter on a day to day basis – from home, from the classroom, from life in general. There will probably be historical and political musings here, as well.

So, this is supposed to “let my readers” know about me. Okay. I was born and raised in the Midwest (Indiana to be precise), joined the Army when I was 18. Met my husband (DH – Darling Husband) while enlisted and married him (as of this writing one day shy of 29 years ago). We settled in Miami, Florida, after ending our tours because he was raised there and his family remained there. A few years after, we had a daughter and a few years after that, a son. DD – Darling Daughter – is a college student now and DS – Darling Son – is in high school.

I became a high school teacher after working in retail, equipment sales, and for a non-profit – plus two years as a stay at home mom. I was called a career changer when I started – even though I don’t know if I ever REALLY had an ACTUAL career before this. I am starting my 15th year of teaching (my 8th teaching US History and my 4th teaching Holocaust Studies, prior to that, I taught Intensive Reading). I love my job and am often amused and touched by my students as well as angered by the treatment of public schools by the Powers That Be – but I’ll leave that rant for another time.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you find some amusement here.
